In the event of a member passing away, we gather at our Lodge meeting and call out the member’s name three times. We call in vain, we call in search of an answer. There is no reply for the member has passed away. This is indeed a poignant moment. In the case of Irving Elfie, a member of many decades, there remains a void that cannot readily be filled. Irving was present at all of our meetings and contributed mightily to the on-going strength of Borough Park Lodge 409. Irving remained a rock of financial security and set us on the path to ongoing fiscal security. It was due to Irving’s diligence, that we are able to carry forward the good work we do. In his honor we will re-double our efforts to grow the Lodge, make our presence known in the Community and continue to do our good work.
